Segregation and preferences for redistribution

چکیده
We study the relationship between segregation and preferences for redistribution in Europe. measure as incidence of assortative mating terms education occupation. Assortative is measured at regional level 10 European countries using IPUMS data. combine these data with eight waves Social Survey (2002-2016). find that increased socioeconomic most forms leads affluent individuals to support less redistribution. Results suggest are socially attached when there high levels segregation.
